PROGRAMS
Serving over 700 East Harlem youth, ages 6-21, Harlem RBI provides free programs
open to all participants regardless of athletic or academic ability.
All Harlem RBI youth play on a baseball or softball team. In order to play, youth
must enroll in off-the-field education programs designed to help them build the
skills and confidence necessary to succeed and avoid the obstacles that often
derail inner-city youth.
Harlem RBI's programs have been recognized nationally and locally by leading youth development practitioners and researchers. In 2007, Harlem RBI received Bank of America’s “Neighborhood Excellence Award” recognizing organizations making a difference in their community. In 2006, Harlem RBI’s REAL Kids Program was named the winner of the Johns Hopkins University’s “Center for Summer Learning Excellence Award” in a competition that is national in scope.
